Tackling Childhood Obesity:
The Need for Change
Childhood obesity is one of the most pressing health and social issues facing the UK today.
The path to obesity starts early; in the UK almost one in four children are overweight on starting school at age 6. Despite the magnitude of this issue, the UK lacks evidence-based interventions designed specifically to prevent and treat obesity in preschool children—a crucial period when lifelong habits are formed.
This is where Planet Munch steps in. We’ve created an engaging, research-backed solution aimed at helping families lay the foundation for healthy living from an early age, supporting long-term health and well-being.

(Week 21)
– Amy Hageman (Centre Manager)
Due to the length and regularity of the programme we get to know the families very well and developed a close relationship with them. That enables us to really understand their habitual lifestyle and from there, implement easy, effective and lasting changes. The families find the nutritional information extremely useful and by the end of the programme families have changed their attitude towards meals and snacks and have much healthier behaviours toward diet and exercise.
I couldn’t recommend Planet Munch more, it’s such a great mix of fun crafts, wonderful dancing and useful education.”
– Sophie Thurner (Nutritionist)
“It is easy to follow and understand. The English is good and clear and the animation which assisting on every detail enhanced and emphasized each topic.”
